Elected positions
- The Steering Group is made up of the website editor plus 11 other members, of which a maximum of 6 can be men and at least one of which must be from Scotland. The Steering Group is responsible for the political direction of the organisation between All Member Assemblies, and is elected annually at the February AMA.
- The Organiser is elected for a period of one year (to the nearest NM). The role may be shared between two people. The Organiser will not be a member of the Steering Group but will attend its meetings and have a tie-breaking vote.
- The Complaints Group (CG) has 5 positions, no more than 3 of which can be filled by men, and is responsible for administering the Complaints and Disciplinary Procedure. It is elected on an annual basis. Steering Group (SG) members and paid workers for rs21 cannot serve on the CG.
- The Website Editor and two Assistant Website Editors are each elected annually. They are jointly responsible for the running of the rs21 website. The Website Editor is an additional member of the Steering Group. Assistant Website editors aren’t members of the Steering Group but can take part in its discussions without a vote.
- The Social Media Editor is elected annually. They convene the social media team with the support of the Publications Worker, making sure there are enough members involved to run the instagram, twitter, facebook, youtube, and any other rs21 social media accounts as required.
- The Treasurer is responsible for managing rs21’s finances and is appointed by the Steering Group.
