The final collapse of Theresa May’s government has unleashed chaos in the Conservative Party. For the second time in three years, Tories will select a new Prime Minister from among themselves, and every candidate represents a faltering neoliberal project which no longer has a lock on public support. Whoever wins the leadership contest, we may soon be thrust into a new General Election. Marxist historian and author Neil Davidson spoke at an rs21 discussion in central London about the establishment’s triple crisis of strategy, party and state – and its potential outcomes.
