Video | Support the strikers at the Institute of Cancer Research
James B •James B reports from the picket line at the Institute of Cancer Research.
Several hundred members of staff of the Institute of Cancer Research are currently on strike over pay. This marks the first such dispute in the organisation’s 117-year history, and is currently the largest dispute in the London & Eastern region of Unite. Members across multiple sites, working in all areas from stores to facilities to scientific research, have seen their pay fall in real terms (relative to inflation) of 16 percent, whilst senior management earn salaries which rival those of big corporations.
I interviewed Jamila Din, a Higher Scientific Officer, at the picket line to find out more about the dispute.
Strikers are asking supporters to
- Join them on the picket line in South Kensington, London, every morning up to 10 July.
- Sign this petition to the Chair of the Board of Trustees
