Demonstrate against Trump and May tonight – details of all the demonstrations that we know of

rs21

Tonight will see angry protests across Britain against Trump’s vile racist travel ban and Theresa May’s revolting invite to him for an official state visit. We list here all the demonstrations that we know of

10 days ago the Women’s Marches against the newly anointed Trump mobilised millions across the USA and the world. But Trump’s first week in office showed a thug determined to impose his will on the planet. This culminated in his travel ban which halted the entire US refugee programme for 120 days, indefinitely banned Syrian refugees and suspended all nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries with immediate effect. Resistance to this racism has been swift as large protests have engulfed major airports across America.

In Britain PM Theresa May has not only refused to condemn Trump’s Islamophobia but has rewarded him by inviting him for a state visit. A petition calling for this invitation to be rescinded has been signed by over 1,200,000 people in the UK.

We should not despair. The explosion of anger at the Trump administration can bring down his government. And in the process the Tory government can be fatally weakened. We are living through a very important moment.

Tonight a series of demonstrations across Britain have been called in protest. They include:

London – 6pm Downing Street
