Voices against Trident – video from CND demonstration in London

rs21

On Saturday tens of thousands of people protested in central London to oppose the renewal of the Trident nuclear weapons system. Activists travelled from around the country – from Penzance to Aberdeen – and marched from Speakers Corner to Trafalgar Square. Despite the cold, most people stayed in Trafalgar Square listening to speeches and waiting for Jeremy Corbyn to speak. His appearance at the end of the rally drew the biggest cheer of the afternoon.

rs21 spoke to first-time protestors and seasoned activists about why they were taking part in the protest and why they thought it was important to oppose nuclear weapons.
