Ritzy benefit video: “You don’t get me, I’m part of the union!”

rs21

Over a hundred people packed into The Grosvenor in Stockwell last night for the Ritzy strike benefit. The Ritzy workers have taken nine days of strike action so far and are looking to take more over the summer.

The night began at 7pm and went on till the early hours with singing, dancing and bbq food completely unaffected by the, at times, dreary weather outside.

Here is a video of the amazing Morton Valence doing their very first performance of “Part of the union”:

A violet coloured image collage of a photo of Sylvia Townshend Warner and a painting depicting the burning of King Louis Philippe's throne in 1848. Sylvia is a white woman has short dark brown hair and wears glasses. She wears a short sleeved shirt and in the original image wears trousers. Below her is the painting, and it almost looks as if she is looking down on the symbol of the monarchy being burned by revolutionaries.
