Sherrl in Aotearoa/New Zealand in February 2014

The details of Sherrl Yanowitz’s funeral

Neil Rogall

Sherrl Yanowitz  (13.01.1942 – 02.06.2016) was a fighter for justice and equality from a young age and a revolutionary socialist for virtually all her adult life. Her earliest struggles were in the Black Freedom Struggle and as an activist in the Free Speech Movement at the University of California. Her final battles took place as a member of London Palestine Action and of rs21. She will be sorely missed. Her partner, Neil Rogall, invites all those who knew her to her funeral.

The funeral, and celebration of Sherrl Yanowitz‘s life will take place from 2 to 4pm on July 1 at Mortlake Crematorium, Kew Meadow Path, Townmead Road, Richmond, Surrey TW9 4EN. The funeral is open to all. I hope many friends and comrades, past and present, will be there to help me say goodbye to my partner. For directions to get there – http://www.mortlakecrematorium.org/directions/.

Afterwards we will be going to the SHIP, 10 Thames Bank, Mortlake, London, SW14 7QR which is a pleasant riverside pub less than 10 minutes walk from the Crematorium where I have booked a room, and ordered food. http://www.taylor-walker.co.uk/pub/ship-mortlake/c0582/

Please do not bring flowers. If you wish to make a donation to Medical Aid for Palestine (Medical Aid for Palestinians | 33a Islington Park Street | London | N1 1QB | United Kingdom | +44 (0)20 7226 4114 | info@map-uk.org) in Sherrl’s name, please do.

Dress: wearing a suit or black is not obligatory. Though do remember this is a funeral
To all our friends and comrades who are unable to come. If you have any memories, reminiscences of Sherrl that you would like to be read at the funeral, please send them to neil.rogall@yahoo.co.uk
