#MarchForOurLives solidarity draws thousands at US embassy
Steve Eason •A report from the March For Our Lives solidarity protest at the newly-opened US embassy in London.
On Saturday 24 March hundreds of thousands joined March For Our lives protests across the US, some 800,000 reported in Washington, D.C. alone.
The movement calling for gun control arose after the shootings at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on 14 February where 17 students were killed.
In solidarity, thousands protested at the new US embassy in Vauxhall, South London. Most of the demonstrators were of student-age and spoke with North American accents. British support came from Amnesty International. Chants of “Not One More”, “Stop Trump – NRA Trump” and “Enough Is Enough” rang out load and clear around the grounds of the fortress-like embassy.
The final speaker said: “What are we waiting for: another tragedy?… No, we have done the research, the answer is… gun reform”. In response to comments by Senator John McCain the crowd chanted, “We call BS”.
The rally ended with a call to, “Vote these NRA lackeys out!… Vote Them Out – Vote Them Out!”

Why are you supporting calls for the bourgeois state to remove weapons from workers? This is a position that is contrary to the principles of Marxism.
Hi
I do not support gun control, because then only the government and criminals will have guns…
